GROWER-SENIOR LEVEL
This position is accountable for overseeing all production responsibilities on the nursery, with supervisory responsibility for production managers. Scope of responsibility to include all cultural activities such as pruning, spacing, water management, nutrition, housekeeping, inventory and safety, plant health, and budget development and management. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience growing woody ornamentals, a minimum of two years' experience in managing daily activities and supervising a diverse workforce, and have a minimum of an Associates degree in Horticulture/Agriculture or business management with a strong technical background in plant health and nutrition.
ASSISTANT GROWER
The position oversees crews of laborers performing general nursery work, tracks the quality of plants within an assigned area, maintains a report of material movement and ensures accuracy of counts within the area. The successful applicant should have an Associates degree in Horticulture or related discipline or 3 years of nursery experience with 2 years of supervisory experience. Applicants should have working knowledge of woody ornamentals, ability to supervise up to 25 workers and have word processing and spreadsheet computer knowledge.
