H-2B cap met for 2nd half of 2008
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that it has received a sufficient number of petitions to reach the congressionally mandated H-2B cap for the 2nd half of fiscal year 2008. With the second half fiscal year 2008 cap of 33,000 visas for employment met, all petitions for new H-2B workers received after Jan. 2, 2008. will be rejected. "The fact that the statutory cap was reached months prior to the date these workers would be eligible for employment is an irrefutable affirmation of ANLA's efforts to increase the number of H-2B guest-worker visas available to support the American economy and nursery and landscape businesses," said Bob Dolibois, ANLA exec. v.p.
