Dan Greene is a conservative businessman. Most would consider him too conservative. If it weren’t for his wife, Susan, Greene Family Nursery would likely have never started growing many of the company’s most profitable crops.

Now with his children Rick and Brandy at the company, Dan was really being pushed in places he didn’t want to go. Brandy constantly asked for more varieties to offer customers. Rick always wanted to try propagating the latest new cultivars.

The whole thing came to a head this year when Dan was convinced to grow Frankenbush, a new rose that was “the hottest plant on the market.” None of the nurseries that carried it the previous year could keep it in stock.

But one phone call changed all that. Click on each page below to follow the story. What would you do?
