Dan walked into the perennial-production area with Joe where he pointed to a large block of 1-gallon hostas. “Those look good. What are those called?” Dan asked.

“Oh that’s ‘Crowning Achievement.’ It’s like the Paris Hilton of hostas these days -- the most popular one right now,” Joe said. “This whole block will be gone by the end of the week.”

Dan picked up a pot and admired the plant’s distinct variegated leaves. But then he saw some solid-green foliage underneath - weeds who'd hitchhiked their way out of Holland with the plant material. Spraying would hurt the hostas. Pulling would likely leave the roots.
