Petunias are a workhorse in the annual garden, and the plants’ overwhelming popularity with consumers keeps breeders busy. From multiflora to grandiflora, single to double flowers and seed to vegetative propagation, breeders continue to improve the petunia with new colors and habits.

Sometimes one type of petunia may fall out of favor, but it seems demand for the genus stays constant.
