Gaillardia, or blanket flower, is a workhorse that offers some 30 species and a brilliant palette of colors reminiscent of a Southwestern sunset. Varieties consist of annuals, biennials and perennials. Gaillardia is drought and heat tolerant, flowers prolifically throughout summer and into fall and is easy to grow.

Breeders and growers rated gaillardia as #10 when we asked them for up-and-coming plants for the industry.
