While many plants wither in the summer heat, Rudbeckia stands strong with rich colors and a wide variety of flower types. It’s a reliable plant for greenhouse growers and gardeners alike because of its heat and pest tolerance. Also known as black-eyed Susan and gloriosa daisy, Rudbeckia is available as a perennial (R. fulgida) and an annual (R. hirta). It looks great in the landscape, in mixed containers or as a cut flower.

Breeders and growers rated Rudbeckia as #8 when we asked them for up-and-coming plants for the industry.
