Custom-potted containers add up to much more than the price of their components. Don't be afraid to charge accordingly.

Container gardens place the focus on individual plants. You need to choose your best-looking, healthiest plants for containers, not the ones that you can't sell.

Potting is messy, but that's not necessarily a drawback. Just make certain the mess is cleaned up after each planting so it doesn't get out of hand.

If you want to push container garden sales, it's a good idea to have an attractive potting shed where customers can watch the potting.
