Although Maine is experiencing a long-term drought, adequate rain has kept the topsoil moist at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s trial garden in Stillwater, Maine, said Lois Berg Stack, extension specialist. There have been no real pest outbreaks, but there’ve been a lot of earwigs, she said.
