Officials at North Carolina State University’s trials at JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh used shredded leaf mulch this year, which improved performance and aesthetics, said Bob Lyons, professor of horticulture science. Impatiens were infested with thrips and mites. The gardens received little rainfall and temperatures were above normal.
Petunia: ‘Explorer Rose Pink,’ ‘Explorer Lavender,’ ‘Suncatcher Pink Vein,’ ‘Double Wave Purple,’ ‘Suncatcher Purple,’ ‘Suncatcher Deep Plum,’ ‘Ruffle Pink,’ ‘Ruffle Bright Purple,’ ‘Double Wave Lavender’ and ‘Easy Wave Shell Pink.’
