Western Horticultural Products trialed 80 varieties of 2003 plant material at All Season Nursery in Kelso, Wash.
The Western Horticultural Products (WeHoP) trial gardens at All Season Nursery in Kelso experienced an average cool, wet spring and mild temperatures through mid-July. But there were a few days of high temperatures between 90F-100F, said Tonya Lehner, WeHoP sales and marketing manager. Eighty varieties of new 2003 material were trialed. Growers, retailers and consumers used different colored flags to identify their favorites.
Angelonia: ‘Angelface Blue Bicolor.’
Bacopa: ‘Copia White.’
Calibrachoa: Million Bells Apricot and ‘Superbells White.’
Coleus: ‘Stained Glassworks Copper.’
Lophospermum: ‘Great Cascade.’
Petunia: Supertunia Giant Pink and Ramblin’ Mix.
