A new location includes more challenges than just finding the right spot. For Pasquesi Home and Gardens in Chicago, obstacles included overcoming neighbors’ concerns and complying with a year’s worth of city regulations.

With stores already in Lake Bluff and Barrington in the Chicago suburbs, Ed Pasquesi, CEO of Pasquesi Home and Gardens, wanted to grow its original store in Lake Bluff into a larger and even nicer facility. But achieving the dream meant jumping over lots of hurdles along the way and compromising some of his lofty goals.
