Return to 2002 NMPRO Nursery Grower of the Year.

Charlie Parkerson

Lancaster Farms was the first nursery to implement pot-in-pot production on a commercial scale. PNP is facilitated by the nursery's sandy soils.

Daylilies and other perennials have become important additions to the company's crop selection.

Arthur Parkerson, Charlie's son, is a farm manager and has a bachelor's degree in management science from Virginia Tech.

Nora Guilar takes ligustrum cuttings in early summer.

Lancaster Farms' full-service wholesale center, known as the Plant Center, accounts for half of the company's sales.

A cyclic irrigation program has helped the company conserve water.

Container roses are sold by early summer to make room for annuals.

One-year holly liners are transplanted into 3-gallon containers and spaced pot tight. They're spaced after two years and in another year sold or shifted up.
