This year the editorial staff contemplated what is the one thing that growers have in common regardless of the crops they are producing and how they are growing them. The answer? Pests. This year GMPRO is focusing on the Most unWanted Pests, both insects and diseases that cause growers the most problems.

To determine which pests growers consider the Most unWanted, the editorial staff surveyed commercial growers, plant pathologists, entomologists and representatives of pest-control companies. The votes have been tabulated and we’re looking forward to presenting you with the results.

Starting this month, GMPRO presents the pest that was voted by growers and control specialists to be No. 12. Over the next 12 months we'll count down to the No. 1 Most unWanted Pest.

Which insects and diseases do you consider to be the Most unWanted Pests? We know you have a list. Send your list of Most unWanted Pests to GMPRO editor David Kuack at dkuack@branchsmith.com or fax (817) 882-4121.

As the pests are published, you can check on them by clicking on the navigation bar on the left.
